This weeks featured entrepreneur is Thabo. He is the owner of Gauta Trading and Projects.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
Our company’s name is Gauta Trading and Projects (Pty) Ltd. We alleviate the stresses of building maintenance from professionals who own their own Office Spaces or Premises. Our target market is professionals like Doctors, Lawyers and Engineers due to the fact that they don’t have time to deal with these nuances. Gauta do the inspections for potential defects on these buildings and we make it a point that a client never has to stress about any defects. We are on call and we have a team immediately available to attend to our clients every time.
What book has most influenced you and why?
The books that influenced me is The Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela. I learned that having a successful business is a journey that requires determination and strategic planning.
Who has influenced you the most and why?
My father is my greatest influence. He has been a building contractor for 30 years. In all these years he has been an exceptionally hard worker, he never believed in failure and he didn’t believe in being classified as an employee. He taught the value of hard work and entrepreneurship.
Who is your favourite sports star, and why?
My favourite sport star is Teko Modise. He respects the game of soccer. He knows that this is his bread and butter and I believe that is why he is able to live the dream.
If you were stuck on an island, what 3 apps would you want to have on your phone?
I would want to have Facebook and WhatsApp to communicate with my wife and clients as well as my Banking App.
What impact has the programme had for you?
The sessions have been a huge support to my business.
